Shop 'til you drop
Get your shopping shoes on, and head for Glasgow city centre for high street favourites, specialist stores and designer labels galore.
Buchanan Street is the hub of Glasgow's shopping district, and well-known as having some of the best shopping in the UK.
Start at the top (where else?) at Buchanan Galleries - home to around 90 shops covering fashion, accessories, beauty, home wares, techie gadgets and stuff for the kids. It's also home to the John Lewis department store, a high street favourite selling almost anything you can think of.
Just outside Buchanan Galleries you'll find HMV for CDs and DVDs, Dorothy Perkins and Top Shop. And the centre's newest addition, a huge new H&M.
Heading down Buchanan Street are treasures like the Apple Store, New Look and Urban Outfitters.
American Apparel is just a slight meander off Buchanan Street, at Nelson Mandela Place.
Back on Buchanan Street you'll find All Saints, Diesel and Office. There's also a huge Borders selling books, magazines and DVDs.
Take a detour off down Mitchell Lane, for The Lighthouse - the gift shop has a great range of design-led products.
At the bottom of Buchanan Street you'll find Monsson, Karen Millen, the House of Fraser department store and Zara.
Looking for labels? Head for Ingram Street for Cruise, Ralph Lauren, Mulberry, Agent Provocateur and Jigsaw. If you cut through Royal Exchange Square you'll pass LK Bennett and Reiss.
Or head into Princes Square for Vivienne Westwood, Jo Malone and Space NK, or Che Camille in the Argyle Arcade.
If you're really looking to make a day of it, a number of the big stores have personal shoppers or stylists on staff - and their services are usually free. Depending on what you're looking for, it will usually take a couple of hours - so best to make an appointment before you go.
