What to wear to the Beach: Men

You know, sometimes girls have it easy.  We hate to admit it, but when it comes to making a statement on the beach, girls have the upper hand.  Throw on a bikini and a sarong, muss up your hair a bit, and you're done.

Boys, on the other hand...let's talk shorts.  There's more to holidays than speedos (gulp) or shapeless bermudas.  So we've asked fashion styllist Lindsay for some beach looks for the boys that'll turn heads - for all of the right reasons...

Blue vest

Wear classic pieces with an attitude.  These linen trousers are given a style update with the waist detail, and saved from being fusty with a splash of colour (vest) and a savvy use of accessories (cap and glasses).  Cool, in all possible senses.

Bruised shades

Big colour

Don't be afraid of big, bold colour statements.  What looks a bit brash in cold grey Scotland will look fab in the sunshine - like this orange Ted Baker polo.  Wear it with neutral tones, or - to really make the colour pop - sky blue.
