Fashion News - January
Shoes. Don't you just love them? What woman doesn't and, if you are anything like me, the higher and more improbable they are, the better! So, you can imagine my delight when I saw these absolutely fabulous platforms from Dune, available in John Lewis, which will be out this Spring. The mock croc red t-bars are almost too beautiful to wear. Both pairs are £125.
Jade Jagger, Katharine Hamnett and a host of other stars, including Rhianna and the Scissor Sisters, have joined forces with H&M to create a new collection to raise money and awareness of HIV and AIDS. Fashion Against AIDS was initiated by charitable organisation Designers Against AIDS with the aim of raising awareness of the spread of HIV/AIDS among young people. The star's designs range from subtle patterns representing those affected to more overt menas of getting the message across - like Katharine Hamnett's 'Use A Condom' slogan t-shirt. The most expensive item is just £19.99, so there's no excuse for not getting involved. The range will be available from February as part of H&M's younger-end Divided label, with 25% of the proceeds going to HIV/AIDS prevention projects around the world.
Prints will be huge this Spring, from geometric, to flower to patchworks, we'll all be forgoing block colour for patterns. Next has an impressive range of print dresses and one of my favourites is the lovely patchwork print dress (£35). Available in store this Spring.
