Buchanan Galleries' Community Bursary launched for 2009
Buchanan Galleries' Community Bursary provides a £10,000 fund to help charities, community groups and other not-for-profit organisations in west central Scotland.
Each year Buchanan Galleries aims to support organisations which make a vital difference to the people in their area, helping them to pay for materials and services they might otherwise not be able to afford. This is the 6th year we've run our Community Bursary, and we've now helped fund over 100 good causes.
In 2008, we were able to help 19 groups, funding causes including sports teams and music groups, and services supporting socially isolated and disadvantaged people, people going through difficult times due to post-natal depression or being subjected to physical and mental abuse, and those who provide care and support for others in their community.
June Glancy from Start Packs Inverclyde (one of last year's recipients) said "We provide homeless families and individuals with the necessary items to turn an empty shell of a house into a home - so it was great to receive the support from Buchanan Galleries last year which enabled us to buy these much needed items"
Applications for 2009 are now closed.
Thank you to everyone who applied - we're considering all of the entries at the moment, and expect to make an announcement in October. If your application has been successful we'll be in touch with you by letter or email. Good luck!
