Wooly Winter
WHEN it comes to knitwear this winter, the bigger the better. And no, it’s not a nod to Dr Who okay? This particular trend came right off the catwalks at London Fashion Week in February this year, when Giles Deacon showed impossibly huge knits in his Autumn/Winter 07/08 collection. Hooded, and wrapped around the head his knits were enormous, falling into gloves, and in glorious rusts, greens and pinks.
The High Street were quite to adapt a trend that they thought was a winner and the result are shops bulging with chunky knits – from snoods to knitted hats; oversize cardigans, to chunky knitted dresses. If you’re a dab hand with a pair of knitting needles, head into John Lewis for a pattern and some chunky yarn. Or you could just take inspiration from our fashion shoot!
